CREATIVE ARMENIA AND AGBU ANNOUNCE 2019 FELLOWS 

Creative Armenia and the Armenian General Benevolent Union (AGBU) are delighted to announce the five recipients of the inaugural  Creative Armenia-AGBU Fellowships, a year-long program of funding, mentorship and tailored promotion strategies for talented artists from all fields.

AGBU SAYAT NOVA INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION ANNOUNCES WINNERS 

The winning compositions of 2018  Sayat Nova International Composition Competition are Aregnaz Martirosyan’s “Inqnutyun” [Identity] in first place, Bardy Minassian’s “Loure da Loure” [News Is News] in second place, and James Maunders’ “Khosk Im Vordun” [A Word to My Son] in third place.

VASKEN YACOUBIAN TO SERVE AS GODFATHER OF THE HOLY CROSS 

On 6 January, His Holiness Karekin II held a divine liturgy in St. Gregory the Illuminator Cathedral in Yerevan on occasion of the Feast of the Holy Nativity and Theophany of Our Lord Jesus Christ. 2019 was proclaimed Year of the Family.
Vasken Yacoubian, AGBU Central Board Member and President of AGBU Armenia, was this year’s Godfather and honorary holder of the Holy Cross during the Rite of Blessing Holy Water held after the Divine Liturgy.

AGBU ARMENIA'S CULTURAL SEASON 2019 LAUNCHED  
"A New Yerevan Is Rising" poster exhibition marked the opening of AGBU Armenia's cultural season 2019 and provided another occasion to celebrate the 2800th anniversary of our beloved capital. Present at the opening ceremony were Armenian Prime Minister's wife Anna Hakobyan, other officials, many artists and guests.

ANTHOLOGY OF ARMENIAN PIANO MUSIC VOL. 3  
The previously unpublished pieces of Makar Yekmalyan and Komitas in one CD-set. AGBU Armenia hosted a concert and CD presentation of the "Anthology of Armenian Piano Music Volume 3" by TM Production and well-known pianist Armen Babakhanyan.
The 3rd and 4th volumes of the anthology are financed by AGBU's BRIDGE4CSOs project funded by the EU.
